For hikers who want to explore new paths !
From the Moulin du Ruy church it's a few kilometers uphill. After approx. 4 km you have to make sure that you follow the smaller forest path straight ahead for a few tens of meters instead of the wide country road in a 180° turn to the right. In this way we get to the "belvédère Thiry" viewpoint, where the chairlift also arrives. A nice view is the reward for serious climbing .
After visiting the observation tower , we do not take the winding forest path and the pronounced serpentine , but opt for the wider country road that takes us to the Coo train station . This can also be a good starting point for those who want to use public transport.
Through the Amel we reach the highest waterfalls in Belgium in Coo. Stroll, have a drink on a terrace to continue down La Gleize street. This time we follow the left bank of the Amel through De Venne with great views of the Amel to the museum “Décembre 44” in La Gleize.
From La Gleize the road descends into the Roannay Valley. We follow this beautiful valley to the starting point.
