Vilvoorde via Zenne-Buda-Blaesenberg-E19-Brugweg-Lendrikkapel-Houtkaai-Forges-de-Clabecq (10km)

This walking loop takes you past relatively unknown locations through the beauty of Vilvoorde.
It starts and stops at the parking lot behind the former KITO technical secondary school (also the free parking of the Jan Portaels-Ziekenuis (dead end parking).

It leads you over the damped Senne, the original Zennearm on the Tuchthuisstraat, the shortened Senne and the Buda Bridge (where on your right is the Zeekanaal, on your left the Senne, and above your head is the Ring around Brussels.

This route, which will probably later be used by the fitsostrade, passes the Buda bridge. This Bridge was built in front of the Cockeries-du-Marly (west side buda bridge, demolished and rehabilitated, see https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cokeries_de_Marly ). We cross this phenomenal truss bridge made of steel. (See the other POIs). Perhaps few people remember della Bossiers' 1970 song about Haren-Buda. Haren-Buda, which was annexed to Brussels-City in a very first merger, still has a current melancholy about it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RZot4-780EU .

Via the Woelmontstraat the old Blaesenbergweg (which runs into the Borght of Grimbergen!) is taken. At the big drive, which led to the (now disappeared) Castle of the 3 Fountains ( https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Domein_Drie_Fonteinen ), she goes under the Ring again, to cross the ring for a third time. This gives you a phenomenal view of the underside of the Ring around Brussels, where the cars usually stand still during the day.

Then she crosses the very recently renovated pedestrian bridge (finally!) "over the gorge" over under which one of the large ponds of the Domain 3 Fountains is located.
Via the Orangeriedreef a small parallel path is taken to the Lenterik district, and then via the Brugweg and behind the Lendrik chapel to the old Steenweg-op-Koningslo.
Via the painter's path and the Europa bridge (https://www.routeyou.com/nl-be/location/view/47530512/onder-de-vilvoordebrug?toptext=914591), the historic Houtkaai is cut, with the Parmentier wood polish site on its side (see for example here: https://image.routeyou.com/shrink/fit/1600x1200/5309254e3835d7b96aa765780e5b829b_ad65181064d1e5e96faa1a2897cfd43565d5d840.jpg )
Via a five unknown Senne bridge (double Bayley bridge) the domain of the Forges-de-Clabeck Industrial Zone is entered ( https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Forges_de_Clabecq_(Vilvoorde)
). In the future, the Fietsostrade will pass along this road.
Via the Marius Duchéstraat, and the 'School nr.1' (with its beautiful spells on the frontal wall), and the beautifully renovated Slachthuisstraat (see the POIs), via the Spiegelstraat and the short and small 'Neerhofstaatje' you return to the Vissersstraat, where the loop started.

In summary, a lot of details can be seen about Vilvoorde during this 10km loop, ranging from the damped and original Senne, over the narrow narrow strait between Zeekanaal and Zenne, the rehabilitated industrial sites and the Ring Around Brussels, the green Vilvoorde-long "3 Fonteinen", The Peace Bridge over the Zeekanaal (see e.g. https://www.routeyou.com/nl-be/location/view/47530512/onder-de-vilvoordebrug?toptext=914591 ) the wood quay, the double bayley bridge over the Senne, etc. etc...
