The Waterhoek cycling route takes you to the Boven-Schelde between Avelgem and Anzegem. You start at the pump building in Bossuit. From here, you ride along the Bossuit-Kortrijk canal and the old railway line Kortrijk-Ronse to Avelgem. Then, you head towards Tiegemberg. On the way back, you pass through Kerkhove, Waarmaarde, and along the dike path by the Schelde. Interesting to know: The Waterhoek area along the Scheldemeersen gained fame through the work of Stijn Streuvels. This is where Mira and other characters from "The Decline of the Waterhoek" lived.
