Ringvaart Brugge

A tour over the Ringvaart and along Bruges. You can perfectly start at the Flandria marina, turn right 100m after the train station, just before you go up the bridge. So it’s perfectly accessible by train. If you start at the marina, you go left towards Bruges and this way you ride around a large part of Bruges. After about 5 km, you pass a large lock and can turn around to head back to the marina. I regularly take this route to get to work, because near the Kruispoort you pass the court building of Bruges. At the Katelijnebrug (Katelijnepoort), you can dock at a jetty and on the other side, there are some establishments where you can eat or drink. On weekends, there’s also a cafeteria at the marina. Unfortunately, you are not allowed to ride on the Reitjes in the city of Bruges; this is only permitted once a year and is organized by the local canoe club.
