Chambre d'Amis "Bicycle and Lunch" (25km-Lunch-10km)

Are you planning a day trip with friends or family to the beautiful Haspengouw? Then take a "Bike and Lunch"!

Park at the Stroopfabriek in Borgloon (Stationsplein 8, Borgloon). Here you can also rent bikes if you wish (from April 1 to October 31, reservation through www.fietsparadijslimburg.be).

On this route, you will ride through the beautiful hilly landscape of Haspengouw, passing castles and traditional farmyards, through typical South Limburg villages, but above all through the many fruit orchards that shape this region! Enjoy the constantly changing scenery! If you are not used to cycling, an e-bike is definitely recommended, so you can enjoy your bike tour to the fullest!

After 25 km from the starting point, you will arrive in Vechmaal! Ideal for a lunch break!

Chambre dAmis is a concept with an open kitchen in Vechmaal, where you can reserve with a group of at least 8 people. You can have lunch here in the style that suits you: picnic-style, soup and pasta dish, extensive seating... If you want to actually sit at the table, it is possible with a maximum of 22 people. In nice weather, you can relax outside, we call it our 'Barefoot Lunch'! We always welcome our cyclists with a seasonal and regional taste experience! Where is Chambre dAmis located? Drive to Node 157 towards Node 133. First, you will pass through the open fields, then you will pass a beautiful old farm next to a house made of marl stone (Henisdael) and reach "Vechmaallaan". At this point (to the right is a spring where farmers fetch water, opposite is a farm with a beautiful photo of a horse), you will shortly follow towards 133, but at the next 45° bend to the right, turn LEFT into the Langstraat (residential street) until No. 30: Chambre dAmis!

After lunch, it is another 10 km to Borgloon (shorter route also possible). You can make a small detour to the Throughlook Chapel ("reading between the lines") via Grootloon, certainly a nice place for a group photo of your day! Just before the main road, take the access road to the left and follow the signs to the 'Throughlook Chapel'. The water tower is a good landmark! You can also reach this place by taking the small cobblestone path to the left AFTER the chapel from Grootloon... and... it's just a little piece of cobblestone!
