Hiking route Kastel

Start at the Sint-Jozef Church

Address: Baasrodeveerstraat – Hamme

Go towards Baasrodeveerstraat and turn right immediately, crossing the intersection.

Turn a little further left onto the Ripipiaberg.

At the intersection, follow the path left between the houses, which leads to a passage (’t Holleken).

Follow the Begijhofstraat and turn right onto Scheldestraat.

At the intersection, turn right onto Abdijstraat.

At the end of the street, cross the intersection towards Braakstraat.

At the end of the street, turn left through the Dijkgat.

Always follow this road logically, straight ahead to the Dijk.

On the Dijk, turn left.

For those who want to take the ferry or are coming from the ferry:

To go: Continue a bit further right on the Dijk to the ferry.

Back: Turn left at the next intersection and turn right there (away from the Dijk).

For those who do not pass the ferry:

Turn left at the fork (you are going away from the Dijk here).

At the T-junction, turn left.

At the intersection, turn left.

Continue straight ahead; you will be next to the Dijk, next to Kastel. Further on, you will reach the König-Albertdijk.

At hiking junction 156, turn left onto Bellemansdijk.

Cross the concrete path and continue along Bellemansdijk.

At hiking junction 167, turn left onto Gadijk.

Follow this path until Pannestraat. Turn right here and go to the tavern ’t Schuurken.

Turn left before ’t Schuurken.

Go towards the Dijk and follow left.

Descend from the Dijk at the height of hiking junction 154 and head towards the path.

Cross the road and walk along Ganzeberg back to the church.
