The route has been slightly changed due to new constructions that shorten the paths, but now I am looking for a bit more unpaved paths like a passenger along the Steenbergse forests. Not all paths are well maintained, which is a pity, as work has still been done on the policy of carrying paths in Zottegem. After 6.7 km, there is a bench in a quiet spot in the Steenbergse forests, be careful, as the bench is located twenty meters from the hiking trail on the left side, a bit higher. Be sure to take a look at the display at Roger's (bicycle shop, Engelstraat 30, after 8.5 km). After 10 km (Wijnhuizestraat 28, IJs&Co), you can enjoy an ice cream on warm days.

A walk through the Breiveldepark and along backyard paths, hard and unpaved field paths in a hilly landscape. We are here at the border of the Flemish Ardennes and you can already get a taste of the atmosphere on the route. An ascent or descent and a distant view (up to the windmills along the E40 in Melle). Departure from the parking lot of the Bevegemse Vijvers Sports Park in Zottegem (Bevegemse Vijvers 1).
