Heestert

This hike is sure to surprise you. First, you will walk along field paths, then cross a canal and hike through the educational Mortagnewald. Higher up, you can enjoy the wonderful views of the Leie and Scheldt valleys. You will conclude this beautiful hike by exploring some beautiful nature reserves: the Orveytwald, the banks by the canal, and an old railway embankment.
DEPARTURE POINT
You can reach the former station of Heestert-Moen by taking the E17 at exit 3-Kortrijk Oost and following the N8 through Zwevegem towards Oudenaarde. 3 km after the canal bridge, at a right-angled left curve, there is an exit to Moen. At the beginning of this exit is the former station.
PARKING
Directly to the right on the gravel.
TYPE OF ROAD
Low-traffic asphalt roads, gravel and earth paths, paved paths, grass paths in the Orveytwald and forest paths in the Mortagnewald.
ACCESSIBILITY
Impossible for strollers and wheelchairs.
