The GRP 123 is a large loop walk through and around the west of the province of Hainaut. The starting and ending point is Tournai. From there it goes through the Scheldt plains with plenty of water and forests. It also connects with the GR 121 and the GR 122. Then the GR follows the Dender Valley, a rural area with a number of historical sites such as the abbey of Cambron, the castles of Attre and Bois-de-Lessines, and the hospital of Notre Dame à la rose in Lessines. From the valley, it goes to the hills of the Pays des Collines (which adjoins the Flemish Ardennes); there we meet the GR 129, which runs from east to west through Belgium. From the Kluisberg, you descend again to the Scheldt valley and return to Tournai.
