The bike path is nearly finished, only painting the lines remains. When leaving the renewed bike path via 'Engelstraatjen,' it's 50 meters along the edge of the field (now corn) and the small forest, after which one finds a wide field path again.

After 8.5 km on the route, just over the railway, work is underway to build a new bike path, unfortunately, as another piece of unpaved road in nature is being transformed into a bike highway. During the construction work during the week, it may not be possible to walk this section. Just go straight and you'll get back on the route. We keep an eye on the works as later the route may gain a few extra meters.

The oldest name for Scheldewindeke dates back to about 988, Vuenteca. During World War I, Lange Munte was used as an airfield, remnants of the foundation are still clearly visible. The cobblestone stretch of Lange Munte could sometimes be a decisive factor in the final of 'Omloop het Nieuwsblad'
The route has old cobblestone stretches, paths of Slow Ways, forest paths through the Munkbos, and other field paths.

Parking and starting from the Market Square (on Wednesday market day). A path departs from the front of the church, which is the start of the route.

From the station of Scheldewindeke, it is about 300 meters to the market, or you can join the route via the end of the station parking lot and the path that leads to the next level crossing.
