Beautiful signposted walk that starts at event hall 'De Soeverein', Sportveldenstraat in Lommel. Follow the red triangle. This can go both ways.
On 'this site' you can read the following;
The Sahara region lives up to its name: the large sandy plain resembles a miniature desert. But there are also clear blue lakes, heaths and fragrant coniferous and deciduous forests. The picturesque landscapes and the enormous variety make a walk here a unique experience. On and around the water, many birds have found a home. In winter it is a bivouac place for grebes, ducks and swans.
There are also shorter walks on that site.
