Discover all benefitsThe Name of the Rose by Umberto Eco is about a monastery in Italy where a treasure of books and wisdom was hidden. The Charterhouse of Herne had a similar function in this region. Did you know that the first Bible translation, from Latin to Dutch (the common language), took place here in the Charterhouse of Herne? This walk will let you discover this place but also a beautiful part of Pajottenland. The number of unpaved paths is quite limited, but the paved roads are mostly car-free.
