After a few kilometers you can climb the observation tower of Brakel. In clear weather you can even see Brussels from here.
Then we take a piece of 'Het Burreken', one of the most picturesque spots in the Flemish Ardennes. Flower-rich spring forests, babbling brooks, meadows bordered by pollarded willows, and hollow paths alternate in a small-scale pattern in the Burreken. In spring, you are overwhelmed by the floral splendor of anemones, wild garlic, and hyacinths.

Afterwards Zegelsem, this is also known as the cobblestone village because many cobblestones have been used for pavement. 

Then via Buikberg, Haaghoek and the Perlinck watermill to Elst, the village of the 'geutelingen', a type of soft pancakes.
