The walk follows numerous still existing neighborhood paths and connecting paths in the various subdivisions, commonly referred to as 'stretjes'. You will discover new connection routes, partly in the countryside, partly in the subdivisions.

You start at the parking lot at the back of the WZC, Hogestraat 68, Kachtem (towards Restaurant ’t Hooge). From the parking lot, turn left onto the asphalt road and then right onto the asphalt road. Continue straight onto the unpaved neighborhood path which leads you to Binnenstraat where you turn right. Directly opposite number 4, turn left onto the neighborhood path and you will arrive in Zonnestraat, which you walk through to the end where you turn right onto Manestraat. At the intersection, continue straight into Manestraat. A bit further on, turn right onto the neighborhood path towards houses number 102-104. You continue along the house on the neighborhood path and at the end, turn left onto the unpaved neighborhood path towards Ardooisestraat. The neighborhood path becomes an asphalt road that leads into Ardooisestraat, where you turn right. After house number 185 on your right, turn right into Ardooisestraat. Continue along the road until you reach Krommestraat where you turn right. At the end, turn right into Pater Ver Eeckestraat and immediately turn left into Aimé Behaeghestraat. Again, turn left into Aimé Behaeghestraat and at number 19, go straight (connecting road towards De Lanteernstraat). You walk through De Lanteernstraat and turn right on Pater Ver Eeckestraat.

At the end, turn right into Hondsmertjesstraat and between numbers 49 and 51, turn left onto the connecting road to Vuurdorenstraat. There, continue straight into Bremstraat and at the end (after number 14), take a right onto the connecting road to Laurierstraat. Enter Laurierstraat on the left and continue straight into Lavendelstraat. Take the right connecting road towards Sint-Jansstraat and turn left there. At the end of the street, turn right into Hondsmertjesstraat and then right into Kachtemsestraat. Cross the street to the left towards Strijderstraat and take the connecting path behind the houses at number 10. This leads you to Hilderstraat. There, turn left into Kachtemsestraat. At butcher D’Haene, turn right onto Kachtemseplein and continue past the pharmacy, turning right into Hogestraat. Just after the SOK, turn left onto the path next to the sports hall. Continue straight along the connecting path, crossing two streets (Walbeekstraat and 9de Liniestraat). At the end of that path, turn right into 9de Liniestraat and then left into 9de Liniestraat. Turn right into Haverhuisstraat and after house number 7, take the left connecting path that leads you to 11 julistraat which you turn right onto. A bit further, turn left into Manderlynckstraat (paved road alongside the farm and then onto the unpaved road - neighborhood path). In extremely wet weather, you can also walk straight ahead (marked with a sign). The unpaved road can be very muddy during wet weather. A bit further, you will rejoin the marked route in Priester Pattijnstraat. This route is therefore 1 km shorter.

You continue a bit further right on the unpaved road and reach the paved Manderlynckstraat which you turn right into. Turn right into Mezegemstraat then right into Priester Pattijnstraat. Take the left bend in Priester Pattijnstraat and at the end, turn left into Hogestraat.

Directly turn right towards Restaurant ’t Hooge and this will bring you back to the starting point at the parking lot of the WZC.
