Appointment at the church of Henripont, a small village about 4 kilometers east of Braine-le-Comte (Gravenbrakel). There is ample parking here. With the entrance of the church on your left, walk into Rue des Héros. Gently downhill towards Val de la Senette. At the height of a large farm and a white house, turn right. You cross a small stream and a little further on, you turn right into Sentier du Castia _ (marked on a hexagonal sign).

The path gradually becomes narrower. You continue to follow it with fields on your left and barbed wire on your right. After you have walked past a water body on your right, the path changes into a rising hollow road. At the end of the hollow road, you will see a farm and a detached house on your left. Continue down this road for another 100 meters. At the T-junction, turn right and immediately again, diagonally left, into the forest. This is the Chemin du Roton.
Now you are in the Houssière forest, which used to be one with the Sonian Forest. Together they were part of the large Coal Forest that ran through Belgium. Ignore all side roads and continue to follow this path for more than 1 kilometer. On the left side of the path is a very steep slope. This was the wall of a former sand pit. Extraction of iron-rich sand was an important activity in this region and, combined with logging, led to the separation from the Sonian Forest. After approximately 1,200 meters, you will see a sign for Sentier du Vivier des Loges on the left. Take this narrow, descending path through the forest. After crossing a paved road, you will soon reach an open area in the forest and a little further, the corner of a meadow. Continue to follow the narrow path along the meadow, between two barbed wires (slippery passage of about 200 m).

Cross GR121 and keep walking straight ahead until you reach the N533. Be cautious when crossing this busy traffic road! On the other side, take a narrow path between house numbers 146A and 148. After about 50 meters, there is a T-junction immediately offering panoramic views of farmland and meadows. Turn left. Continue along this path, past an impressive holly hedge to a fork in the road. Here, turn right into Allée de la Dinzelle. You are now walking on a paved road again. In the distance on your left, you can see the tallest buildings of Braine-le-Comte.

After a right turn, you will walk past the Ferme de Dimazelle. Ignore the side road to the right towards the Ferme du Goutteau and continue straight ahead towards the forest. Gradually rising, you will pass Domaine Mon Plaisir. An ideal stopping place. For the little ones, there is a nice playground. Continue along the road and you will automatically end up on Sentier de la Voie du Tram. So ignore the turn to the right. Now comes a beautiful stretch of forest, with slopes on the left and right. Walk until you reach an open area with a picnic bench and an educational sign. Here, turn back 180 degrees. So do not take Sentier de Virginal, but the wide forest path where you will find a wooden fence on the left a little further along. Here turn left.

You are now walking on Sentier d’Henripont. After some climbing, the path runs parallel to a roadway for a while. At the intersection with several other walking paths, cross the road carefully. On the right side of the forest path, you will notice the depth of an old sand pit again. Follow this forest path until you reach a paved road. Here, turn right and a little further, diagonally left, follow Sentier de la Maison des Gardes. You are walking in a private forest and must not leave the path. You will cross a roadway again and as you gradually approach the edge of the forest, you can see the 150-meter-high control tower at the inclined plane of Ronquières.

Now be careful, because a little further you will arrive at the intersection with a diagonal forest path. Here, diagonally left, in the direction of the arrow with the blue cross. After a descent and a short climb, you are at the forest edge. About 200 meters further, you will reach the N533 again. Follow this to the left until the bend. Here, turn right towards Ecaussinnes. You are now walking in Rue des Héros, which will take you back to the church of Henripont.
