We walk in the gently rolling landscape of a region that inspired many poets. Hugo Verriest was a priest-poet and had Guido Gezelle as his mentor and example.

He was appointed pastor in Ingooigem in 1895 and would remain so until his death in 1922.

Stijn Streuvels was a fellow villager and a good friend.

You start at the parking lot of the St. Anthony's Church in Ingooigem, a district of Anzegem, and (A) you walk to the back of the parking lot and take a right onto the Lijsternestweg (footpath) in front of the long white house, 100 m further the gravel road (also Lijsternestweg) (B) right and follow this path to Tjampensstraat, right.

A little further at Kapel Ter Nood (C) keep straight and at the next bend to the left there are 2 footpaths; take the footpath to the right, at the end left onto Braamstraat, (do not take De Helleweg a bit further to the right) but continue until De Hellestraat now turn left, after 150 m. right onto Meuleberg and immediately again right onto Bergstraat.

· You go down and take the 3rd street left onto Walbrugge, almost at the end of this street left onto Kapelledreef and then again left onto Warandedreef, (we are now next to the St. Arnoldus Park) (D) and after 50 m. again take the footpath to the left.

After 100 m. do not take the footpath to the left but continue upwards where you take the Meuleberg to the right (E).

At Kapellestraat turn left after 20 m. again left not onto Hellestraat but take Schernaai and walk to the end of this street.

You then take De Landergemstraat to the left (across from Landergemstraat there is a wrong street sign stating Pastoor Verrieststraat instead of Landergemstraat). First street to the right onto Scheihoekstraat and continue straight to Sint Antoniusstraat here turn left, ignore Guido Gezellestraat and 150 m. further take left onto Lindendries then after 30 m. right then left onto the footpath (G) and walk further to Pastoor Verrieststraat and the parking lot at the church, where you started.
