Hilly bike ride to the charming town of Andenne, located on the right bank of the Meuse halfway between Huy and Namur.
The outbound journey from Tienen is the hardest, with over 500 meters of elevation gain.
The return journey is much lighter, with only the long climb (5 km) from the village of Sclayn to Petit-Waret to get out of the Meuse valley.
Along the way, there are several cobbled sections on the route that can be difficult to ride, as farmers with their heavy agricultural machinery just tear up the field roads.
A bike ride is only feasible after a dry period, when the field roads are hard as they turn into hardened clay mud.
Now and then, some steering skills are needed to navigate through the hardened mud sections.
