This route generally runs along paved, low-traffic roads, through a beautiful hilly landscape reminiscent of a typical fruit-growing region. You walk through fruit orchards, vineyards, meadows, and fields. The departure and arrival point is at the parking lot of the Marienlof abbey (abbey of Colen) where you can stop at the tavern for a bite to eat and a drink.

We start at the information board in the parking lot and immediately cross the bridge and the bike path (former syrup track). We follow this road until we reach the main road and diagonally cross it. Then we turn left into Begijnenstraat, which we follow until Bellingstraat, where we turn left again and then take the first street on the right (also Bellingsstraat) until you encounter an unpaved path on the left between the fruit orchards. We take this path and continue straight until we pass under the bike path (old railway tunnel of the syrup track) until we reach the next T-junction.

Now we turn left and continue following this road until the paved road turns to unpaved. We now take the unpaved road, and after the bend, it goes steeply uphill (beautiful sunken road). We follow this until we reach the main road (Heuvelstraat), where we turn left (watch out for traffic). We take the first right behind the cross (Opleeuwstraat), then the first left (unpaved field road), and we continue along this field road, passing under the bridge of Rullecoverstraat until we reach a T-junction (paved road, Oorsprongstraat).

Here we turn left (be careful, fairly busy road), after about 500m (large intersection) we turn right (Nielstraat). We follow this until the second street on the left (Leemzaal). We enter this street and follow it until we reach a Y-junction with a field road to the right. We take this unpaved field road until we reach the boardwalk. We follow the boardwalk to the right. The boardwalk now turns into an unpaved field road that we follow uphill until we reach a paved road (Colenstraat). Turn left towards the abbey and return to the parking lot.
