You drive right through the fruit plantations and dock on the same roads where Eddy Merckx prepared for his races. You pass the church of Meensel-Kiezegem and the statue of the 'Cannibal' at his birthplace in the Tieltsestraat. Other sights not to be missed: the famous cycling café Boerenhof where the winner's jerseys on the wall still 'breathe course', the popular Vlooyberg tower in Tielt-Winge - from the Callboys series - and the picturesque brasserie Gempemolen in Sint-Joris Winge. A beautiful, centuries-old watermill where Jeroen Meus' brother surprises you with a drink, a small snack or a gourmet dish.
