The Houtland in the triangle of Bruges, Oostkamp and Torhout is an unadulterated region of castles and estates. They form the common thread throughout the Castle Bike Route. The starting point is in the provincial domain of Tillegembos. From there, you bike to the Merkemveld in Zedelgem. Next, Oostkamp is visited, including the castles Pecsteen, Raepenburgh, and Lakebos. Via Wingene and the ancient Vrijgeweed, it leads to the forests of Vloetemveld in Zedelgem. The return route goes through the urban castle parks Tudor and Beisbroek in Sint-Andries (Bruges).
