Departing from Groenendaal train station, already built in 1895 and an example of late 19th century station architecture, walk along the Ijse, whose spring is just a few kilometers to the west in the forest and which flows into the Dyle at Neerijse (Huldenberg). You will pass by the many ponds dug out by monks of the priory of Groenendaal centuries ago.
This walk is marked on the ground, you have to follow the wooden posts with red arrows.
