Partendo dalla stazione ferroviaria di Groenendaal, già costruita nel 1895 e un esempio di architettura ferroviaria della fine del XIX secolo, cammina lungo l'Ijse, la cui sorgente si trova a solo pochi chilometri a ovest nella foresta e che confluisce nel Dyle a Neerijse (Huldenberg). Passerai accanto ai numerosi stagni scavati dai monaci del priorato di Groenendaal secoli fa.
