The Emelgem route starts at the sports center on Merelstraat. There you will also find the starting board. The route runs along rural roads, mostly on the territory of Emelgem but also takes a piece of Ingelmunster where you can connect to the route Ingelmunster (Veldstraat-Polletswegel). You can also connect from the Emelgem route to the route Kachtem (intersection Vernagelingstraat-Izegemsestraat).

The total distance of the route is 12km and you will follow the blue signage for that.

The Midwest Skating Network spreads across the municipalities of Ardooie, Hooglede, Ingelmunster, Izegem, Ledegem, Lichtervelde, Meulebeke, Moorslede, Oostrozebeke, Pittem, Roeselare, Ruiselede, Staden, Tielt, Wielsbeke and Wingene with a total distance of about 450km. You skate kilometers along a varied rural and urban landscape. In addition to the beautiful views, there are also nice resting spots. You discover the strengths of the 16 municipalities in three tourist regions: the Leie region, the Bruges countryside, and the Westhoek. Both recreational and advanced skaters will find what they are looking for here. Runners, walkers, cyclists, and others can also enjoy this unique network within the Midwest region!
