Helmcken Falls on the Murtle River is a beautiful waterfall (145 meter) in Wells Gray Provincial Park (British Columbia). The protection of this waterfall had a direct impact on the establishment of Wells Gray Provincial Park in 1939. The waterfall is named after the physician John Sebastian Helmcken, however he has never seen the waterfall. You can visit Helmcken Falls taking the Clearwater Valley Road (exit on the Helmcken Falls Road).
