Cheyres is a former municipality in the district of Broye in the canton of Fribourg in Switzerland. On 1 January 2017 the former municipalities of Cheyres and Châbles merged into the new municipality of Cheyres-Châbles.
Cheyres has an area, as of 2009, of 5.1 square kilometers . Of this area, 2.18 km2 or 42.5% is used for agricultural purposes, while 1.83 km2 or 35.7% is forested. Of the rest of the land, 0.73 km2 or 14.2% is settled , 0.05 km2 or 1.0% is either rivers or lakes and 0.34 km2 or 6.6% is unproductive land.
