The Yellow House in Flims in the Grisons Surselva is an old farmhouse that was redesigned by architect Valerio Olgiati on the main road in the district of Flims-Dorf, which was plastered and painted yellow until the renovation.
During the renovation, completed in 1999, the building was completely gutted, the entrance was moved from the street side to the east side, and the roof was covered with white-painted slate tiles. It is entirely painted white; a condition for transferring the building to the municipality of Flims by Rudolf Olgiati, Valerio's father. Notable are the square, deeply inset windows on three sides of the facade. The oldest structural element is a natural stone wall in the lower part of the building. A column extending through the intermediate floors vertically divides the stories.
