The Tseuzier or Zeuzier dam, sometimes also called the Rawyl or Rawil dam, is an arch dam in the canton of Valais in Switzerland, near the Anzère ski resort. It is located on the right bank of the Rhône at the bottom of the Lienne valley, at the foot of the Rawyl pass, and measures 156 meters high. It was commissioned in 1957. Its catchment area covers 18.7 km² and is situated at an altitude of 1,777 meters.
In 1978, following the drilling of the exploratory gallery of the Rawyl tunnel, the dam was severely damaged. The reasons for these major deformations are not fully understood, but they may also stem from still-active faults or from settling of the rock mass due to a drainage effect. The Swiss Federal Office for Water Economics has taken measures to determine the causes, monitor repairs, and refill the reservoir.
