Le Bry is a locality and former municipality in Switzerland's canton of Fribourg, located in the district of Gruyère.
Remains of a Gallo-Roman settlement from the 2nd and 3rd centuries have been discovered in Le Bry. A rich cemetery from the early Middle Ages, Le Bry was a dependency of the lordship of Pont: a 12th-century castle and an ancient village in a bend of the Sarine River. In 1482, the lordship was sold to Fribourg and became the first bailiwick of the canton. The locality was attached to the district of Bulle in 1798. Le Bry is part of the parish of Avry-devant-Pont. The former municipality is mainly active in fodder crops and cattle breeding. Part of the lands of Le Bry was submerged in the artificial lake of Gruyère starting in 1948 with the construction of the Rossens dam. Since 1990, a tourist infrastructure with a port, recreational area, and residential zone has been developed. In 1990, more than a quarter of the population worked in the primary sector. Operation of a gravel pit from 1957 to 1990. The Morard SA distillery has been located there since 1957.
