The Engadine is a beautiful enclosed valley in the southeast of Switzerland, Canton Graubünden. It is one of the regions where larches abound, which do not color beautifully every autumn. October is usually an ideal time to enjoy the burst of colors. The surrounding mountain peaks are already turning white and the sun often shines exuberantly. "Golden October," as it is called. We made a two-day hike of 47 km from the Engadine to the Chamanna Jenatsch.
