Route description

This tour starts in the small village of Albinen. You first cross the forest destroyed by a fire in 2003 and arrive at Thel before you get to next historic village called Guttet. After that you take the path down to Leuk, which celebrated it's 1500th anniversary in 2015. The most tiring section awaits you at the end of the tour, where you have to get back up to Albinen.
From Albinen, take a parallel road that goes steeply to Tschingere and St. Barbara. Do not miss the turnoff to Leuk, otherwise you will have to continue the journey by the main road. Once you have taken the turning, you cross through the vineyards above Leuk. From Leuk, a small part of the circuit is located on the main road towards Erschmatt. At Lichten, you leave the main road and climb towards Guttet. After you reach 500 metres altitude, you can take a shortcut to Guttet Thel and climb the last hill through the forest to Albinen.
Have a break in Leuk and visit the castle restored by the swiss architect Mario Botta. You will enjoy a breathtaking view on the Rhone Valley.
Arrive in Leuk by train (SBB). Afterwards, take the bus connection (LLB) from Leuk train station going directly to Leukerbad, Albinen, Inden or Varen.
From Basel/Zurich: A1 motorway until Bern, A6 until Spiez, in the direction of Kandersteg; Car transport Kandersteg-Goppenstein; in the direction of Gampel; Leuk-Leukerbad. From Geneva: A1 motorway until Lausanne; in the direction of Sion/Sierre; Leuk-Leukerbad.
