Description by the author

Take the cable car from Champéry to Croix-de-Culet. Afterwards the tour leads through the Portes du Soleil ski area where you drive past several mountain pastures. The trail leads you close to the Swiss-French border. The tour is not very demanding, you don't have to cope with exhausting ascents.
From the top of the Champéry / Croix de Culet cable car, head downhill on the gravel road that cuts across the Culet pasture until you meet up with the route de Planachaux. This will lead you to the departure point of the Route du Lait, or "Milk Road", a gently rolling fire road that cuts through the Pas, Ripaille, Pisa, Pierre and Poya alpine pastures. This road offers spectacular views over the Dents du Midi and Dents Blanches mountain ranges, the Ruan Glacier and Chavanette, almost unrecognizable without its iconic winter coating of moguls. From the Poya alpine pasture, you will skim the foot of the Col de Cou pass and head down the somewhat steeper descent of the route des Creuses; in winter, this is the ski slope that ends at Grand Paradis. Continue along this road to meet up with the route de Planachaux which will bring you back to Champéry.
Stop at the Lapisa farm and take in the spectacular views of the surrounding landscapes. While you're there, you may have the chance to watch the owner making his famous alpine cheeses.
Arriving from Brig or Geneva, take the Simplon line to Aigle and then take the AOMC regional train to Champéry.
From the A9 motorway, take the St-Triphon exit in the direction of the Portes du Soleil via Collombey, Troistorrents, Val d'Illiez and finally Champéry.
Parking is possible directly at the cable car in Champéry. Follow the local car park routeing.
We recommend: bike in excellent working order, helmet, gloves and bell, clothing suitable for the weather (always carry a waterproof), food and drink.
Use marked bike trails and routes only, and observe all signposting. Please close gates after passing through. Please be considerate to walkers and to plants and animals. As a rule, walkers have priority. When planning, take into account participants’ fitness level and ability. All riding is at one’s own risk.
