Route description

Making your way across a single trail with an impressive view of the Rhone Valley and over the Valais mountain scenery, you will eventually reach Oberu and Bachalp.
The Torrent cable car will take your mountain bike to the Rinderhütte mountain station for no extra charge. Making your way across a single trail with an impressive view of the Rhone Valley and over the Valais mountain scenery, you will eventually reach Oberu and Bachalp. From there you will arrive at the edge of a larch wood forest. After a few curves on the asphalt trail you will reach the off-road trail towards Albinen. Afterwards you will rejoin the main road back to Leukerbad. A varied and fast-paced route. Please watch out for hikers along the track.
Have a rest at Bachalp, where some of the farmers offer little snacks. Otherwise you have a meal at the Trächu Hittu where you have to taste a Valais platter. 
Arrive in Leuk by train (SBB). Afterwards, take the bus connection (LLB) from Leuk train station going directly to Leukerbad, Albinen, Inden or Varen.
From Basel/Zurich: A1 motorway until Bern, A6 until Spiez, in the direction of Kandersteg; Car transport Kandersteg-Goppenstein; in the direction of Gampel; Leuk-Leukerbad. From Geneva: A1 motorway until Lausanne; in the direction of Sion/Sierre; Leuk-Leukerbad. From Milan: Motorway A8/A26 in the direction of Simplon; car transport Iselle-Brig; in the direction of Leuk-Leukerbad.
Park directly at the Torrent cable car or use different parking possibilities in the village of Leukerbad. Therefore, follow the local car-park routeing. 
We recommend: bike in excellent working order, helmet, gloves and bell, clothing suitable for the weather (always carry a waterproof), food and drink.
Use marked bike trails and routes only, and observe all signposting. Please close gates after passing through. Please be considerate to walkers and to plants and animals. As a rule, walkers have priority. When planning, take into account participants’ fitness level and ability. All riding is at one’s own risk.
