Retzstadt is a community in the Main-Spessart district in the Regierungsbezirk of Lower Franconia in Bavaria, Germany and a member of the Verwaltungsgemeinschaft of Zellingen.
Reccisstadt had its first documentary mention in the mid 8th century. Retzstadt was, as part of the Princely Electorate of Würzburg in Bavaria’s favour secularized and passed in the Peace of Pressburg in 1805 to Archduke Ferdinand of Tuscany to form the Grand Duchy of Würzburg, with which it passed in 1814 to Bavaria.
