The KZ Bad Gandersheim was a subcamp of the Buchenwald concentration camp that existed from October 1944 to April 1945, located in the former monastery of Brunshausen near the town of Bad Gandersheim in present-day Lower Saxony. The camp was responsible for the production of aircraft parts on behalf of the Ernst Heinkel AG company.
Originally, the Carl Bruns tool factory intended to manufacture aircraft parts for the Focke-Wulf night fighter Ta 154 on the site of the later concentration camp. Due to a lack of labor and insufficient supply of raw materials, production did not begin until April 1944 and was halted after a few weeks. The approximately 40,000 m² large production halls did not remain unused for long, as Ernst Heinkel AG rented them after having to relocate their production from Mielec due to the advancing Red Army.
