Mehlem is a district of the federal city of Bonn in the Bad Godesberg city district with around 9,000 inhabitants.
Mehlem is located on the southern edge of Bonn in the Rhine valley, which already narrows significantly with the slope of the Rodderberg, at the southern end of the Godesberg Rhine valley funnel, which serves as the entrance to the Lower Rhineland Bay. Federal Highway 9 and the left riverbank railway line divide Mehlem into Upper and Lower Village. The Mehlem stream flows through the village partly piped and discharges into the Rhine there. To the south, there is a seamless transition to Rolandswerth, a district of the town of Remagen in Rhineland-Palatinate. A small part of the Nonnenwerth Island lies there within the Bonn city limits.
