Dönberg is a district and residential area in the eastern part of the Wuppertal borough of Uellendahl-Katernberg and belongs to the district of Elberfeld. The highest point is marked by the Evangelical Church of Dönberg at an elevation of about 300 meters above sea level.
Approximately 5,000 people live in Dönberg, which covers an area of 6.4 km². Dönberg sits on a ridge just over 300 meters high in the northern heights above Wuppertal; the Horather Straße here forms roughly the watershed between the Wupper and the Ruhr. The Deilbach, a tributary of the Ruhr that flows north to the east of the district, forms the border to the municipal areas of Sprockhövel and Hattingen, while the city of Velbert borders to the west of the area. Another tributary of the Ruhr, the Hardenberger Bach, rises at the northwestern edge of the settlement, and the source streams of the Mirker Bach originate in the southeastern part of the district.
