Prigglitz belongs to the industrial district in the southeast of Lower Austria. It is located at an altitude of 635 m north of Gloggnitz above the Schwarza Valley. The area of the municipality covers 17.97 square kilometers. Of this, 26 percent is agricultural usable land, and 70 percent is forested. Excavations show that copper was mined here from the 11th to the 9th century BC.
