The Martin-Luther-Gymnasium, or "MLG" for short, is a general education grammar school in Lutherstadt Eisleben, Germany. The school is named after the church reformer Martin Luther, who was born and died in the city.
The founding of the grammar school goes back to Martin Luther himself. Shortly before his death, the reformer returned to his native town in January 1546 to settle a dispute between the three Counts of Mansfeld. On 16 February 1546, he obtained the conclusion of Luther's Treaty, which, among other things, provided for the founding of a "leading Latin school". The first school building was located in the rectory of St. Andrew's Church.
