The chairlift of Westfalenpark is a detachable single-cable gondola lift in Westfalenpark in Dortmund.
In 1959, the cable car was built and put into operation by the company Pohlig on the occasion of the first Federal Garden Exhibition in Dortmund. It is a gondola lift with open gondolas that have two opposing seats. That is why it is also referred to as a chair lift. Until 1998, it operated during the summer season and was very popular. At the end of 1998, operations were suspended for financial reasons. In 2002, the TÜV inspected the facility and found only minor deficiencies. Afterwards, the company Intamin leased the facility on the condition that the city of Dortmund adequately supports the project.
