The Elsach is a good 5 km long right tributary of the middle Erms on the Swabian Jura in Baden-Württemberg.
The sources of the Elsach are located southwest of Grabenstetten. They spring as karst springs from the system of the Falkenstein Cave. Only during heavy rainfall and correspondingly high karst water levels, as well as in snowy winters, is the cave portal the upper source of the Elsach. Most of the water drains at other locations that are still connected to the Falkenstein Water Cave for the majority of the year.
