Marienau Abbey in Marienau, today a district of Coppenbrügge in the district of Hameln-Pyrmont, was a monastery of the Carmelite Order. It was also called "to deme Ouhagen".
The monastery, which was dedicated to the Mother of God, Mary, was probably founded in 1300, because around 1300 the Counts of Spiegelberg, who lived in nearby Coppenbrügge, donated land to the Carmelites for the construction of their monastery in Marienau. Another documentary mention dates back to 1312. There was previously a chapel on the same site, which received a papal letter of grace in 1298. Although it was outside their dominion, the Spiegelbergs were spiritually cared for by the monastery and used by them as a burial ground.
