St. Maria ad gradus was the collegiate church dedicated to the Mother of God of the same name in Mainz, located east of the Mainz Cathedral, that is, situated between the Cathedral and the Rhine. Colloquially, it was called Liebfrauenkirche, "to our beloved women", "our beloved lady at the stages" and "to the Greden", as a high staircase led from the east portal of this Marian church down to the lower-lying area at the Fischtor.
