Silbersee is the colloquial and local name for the gravel pit lake Reimers in the Gartenstadt district of Neumünster in Schleswig-Holstein.
The typical gravel pit lake is a former sand and gravel quarry, located four kilometers west of the city of Neumünster in Schleswig-Holstein near the A7 motorway. The gravel pit was established in 1969 as part of the construction of the A7 to meet the corresponding raw material needs for building materials. The lake is rectangular in shape, measuring 240 m in length and 115 m in width. It was originally uniformly 4.5 meters deep, but has since lost depth due to siltation. Initially, it was briefly used for fish farming. Today, the area around the lake serves as a campsite with about 45 pitches, all situated directly by the water.
