The Suttensee is a lake in the Mangfall Mountains. It is located at the upper end of the valley of the Rottach, 4.4 km above the town center in the municipality of Rottach-Egern. A part of the former lake has silted up and grown into a raised bog. To the west of the valley rise the Risserkogel and Blankenstein, and to the east are Bodenschneid and Roßkopf. The valley is referred to as the Sutten area, and to the northeast lie the Sutten pastures above.
The valley and lake are accessed by the toll road from Enterrottach to the Valepp forestry house over the Wechsel Pass, which is located immediately south of the lake. Throughout the year, the Suttental is heavily visited due to the Moni-Alm and the mountain farm Sutten. A chairlift takes visitors from the Sutten area to the Stümpfling, with a connection to the Spitzingsee. In winter, it is part of the Spitzingsee ski area, with several runs descending into the valley of the Suttensee. Additionally, a cross-country skiing trail is maintained around the lake.
