Haus Amecke is located in the Amecke district of the town of Sundern, a town in the Hochsauerlandkreis district in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany.
Haus Amecke, also known as "Castrum Adenbecke", was first mentioned in 1338. In 1338, Count Gottfried IV enfeoffed Johan Wrede with two mansi in Amecke. Over the next 60 years, the farmstead was transformed into a moated castle. The Kulm limestones for the construction were extracted in quarries on the Steinert and Langeloh mountains. The central wing and the east wing of the main building with archway were probably built first.
