Irsbach

The Irsbach is a stream in the district of Schwäbisch Hall in northeastern Baden-Württemberg, about 5 km long, which flows into the Eisbach from the left in the district of Sulzbach-Laufen.
The Irsbach springs from the southwestern tip of the Obersontheim municipal area on the forest high plateau of the Limpurger Mountains in the Geißbühl forest area near the Aigeltinger Linden at the so-called Försterbrunnen. It flows through the narrow and rapidly deepening Trübe Klinge towards the southeast and receives from the left, after less than a kilometer, a source branch of about equal length, which arises at the forest path corner at the former military depot Hasenbühl and through whose Klinge a forest road leads down into the valley, closely following the Irsbach in its further forest Klinge. For the next nearly 2.5 km, a large number of rich streamlets from left and right flow in at right angles to the Irsbach, of which the larger ones reach about half a kilometer in length and come from the elevations of the Kohlenstraße on the left and the Brünststraße on the right. Most are nameless. Its largest tributary, measuring 1.5 km in length and coming from the Stallwasenklinge on the left, reaches it after 3.4 km, shortly afterward it turns southwest, its forest Klinge widens into a broad valley in open fields and the accompanying road rises to the left slope. After a little over one hundred meters, it feeds two ponds with a total area of 0.3 ha from the influx of the Tiefenklinge on the right; about 0.9 km after its bend, it reaches the Sulzbacher Walkmühle and finally flows into the Eisbach from the left in the northern area of Sulzbach, 5.0 km downstream from its source.
