Unter den Linden is a U-Bahn station in the central Mitte district of Berlin, at the intersection of the Unter den Linden boulevard and Friedrichstraße. It is an interchange station between the extended U5 and U6 U-Bahn lines.
The U5 extension from Alexanderplatz to the newer at Brandenburger Tor forms a line crossing the historic city centre to the Berlin Hauptbahnhof terminus. Construction of the Unter den Linden station began on 1 July 2012 necessitating a break in service on the line. The extension opened in 2020, but work on the line was already completed in October 2013.
