The Hannoversche Treue mine is a former iron ore mine in the Peine-Salzgitter district. It was located on the eastern flank of the Salzgitter ridge north of Salzgitter-Bad near the districts of Salzgitter-Engerode and Salzgitter-Calbecht. The first mine fields for the mining of iron ore in open-cast mining were leased in 1856/57. In 1938, four shafts were excavated and in 1939, ore extraction from underground mining began. Due to a lack of sales, the mine was shut down on 27 May 1967.
The iron ore deposit extends in a north-south direction over a length of 2.5 km and was 2.3 km wide. The thickness of the deposit was between 15 and 30 m in the upper area, and the ore deposit thinned out to the east. The camp fell from the daytime outcrop in the west with an average of 55 degrees to the east, at increasing depth it flattened out to 20 degrees.
