Dill Valley Bridge Haiger

The Dilltalbrücke Haiger is a motorway bridge on which the A 45 motorway crosses the Dill between the town of Haiger and the district of Rodenbach in Hesse.

The current bridge is now the second bridge built at this point. Between 1965 and 1968, the predecessor of today's bridge was built. The multi-platform slab beam bridge consisted of a total of 15 spans, each with a length of 53.40 m. Thus, it had a total length of 801 meters. It was built by the companies Backhaus and Kögel GmbH. In 2000, it had to make way for the new construction. The current bridge consists of a total of 13 spans with a length of 45 to 85 meters. This structure was built by the company Heilit-Woerner Bau-AG from Munich. As a construction system for the separate superstructures, which differ in width, a single-cell composite hollow box girder with partly transversely prestressed in-situ concrete roadway slab was chosen. The replacement building was opened to traffic in 2003.
