The Zitadelle Gymnasium of the city of Jülich is the largest gymnasium in the urban area of Jülich. It is also the oldest school in the city, founded by Duke Wilhelm V, the Rich of Jülich-Kleve-Berg.
Currently, the school has about 1100 students and is spread across two building ensembles, the main building in the citadel and the west building with an attached extension that was only completed a few years ago.
